Warehouse Logistics Manager

The Warehouse Logistics Manager will ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently and profitably. This position has supervisory responsibilities, including hiring and training warehouse employees, overseeing the daily workflow of the warehouse, scheduling and organizing employees to ensure proper staffing, providing constructive and timely performance evaluations, and handling discipline of employees per company policies in collaboration with Human Resources. This position is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience is required
  • A minimum of five years of related supervisory work experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent active listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Responsibilities

  • Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Plan long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts.
  • Traces history of items to determine reason for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by monitoring safety & security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new designs layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement while monitoring the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
  • Control and direct all transportation into and out of the warehouse.
  • Studies shipping notices, bill of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Research carrier problems and monitor carrier compliance.
  • Analysis and resolution of freight loss and damage claims.
  • Develop and maintain a basic follow up system to ensure 0 shipping errors.
  • Coordinate with other members of management to ensure efficient warehouse operations
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Compensation

$70,000 - $90,000 per year
