Position Overview
Supervise the Powder Coating/Paint operation. This includes the management of a cohesive team, meeting schedules and quality requirements, maintenance of entire pre-treatment system and ovens, MSD and EPA reporting, and troubleshooting production problems. This position is responsible for ensuring the daily production requirements of the paint line are met, all maintenance functions are performed, and all staff works in a safe and productive manner. The department must also be kept in a clean and orderly state to aid in good production and product flow.

Education/Experience and Qualification Requirements:
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience
- Experience with powder coating and paint quality is required
- Must be able to lead by example
- Must be a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented person
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Lean Manufacturing and 5S is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determines coating requirements by studying specifications for paints, powder coatings, epoxies, urethanes, etc.
- Knowledge of surface preparation by using masking, grit blast, or chemical rinse.
- Ability to supervise the team of people who complete coatings by operating and adjusting spray guns, and and manual equipment,
- Maintains equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions and completing preventive maintenance requirements and schedules.
- Prepares production reports by recording data.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Imparts directives, goals, and needs of the management team of the desired outcomes in a timely and positive manner, looking towards maintaining, as well as building positive employee relations.
- Assigns work to employees, moves employees to obtain optimum efficiency for effective throughput of the finished product in the least amount of time possible, controls labor costs, oversees the work product, quality control, and coordination.
- Examines production to determine if items meet specifications.
- Enforces policies and safety regulations,
- Directs, motivates, disciplines, and reviews employees in a timely manner consistent with company policy.
- Responsible for the training of any newly hired employees as well as ensuring each employee is cross-trained.
- Communicates with other departments to establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Performs other duties assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Work is usually performed in a manufacturing plant environment
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking through facility, sitting and desk work
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs at a time
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the company’s facilities
